Project terms

These terms apply to brand and website projects, and the Hosting & Care plan, provided by Veylor Studio Limited (NZ company number 8572067). They form part of every quote. Accepting a quote, or paying the deposit, means you agree to them.

If a quote says something different from these terms, the quote applies.

Each quote sets out what's included and the price. Prices are in New Zealand dollars. We're not GST registered, so no GST is added.

The price in your accepted quote is fixed for that project, including any offer that applied when you accepted it.

Domain registration, printing, stock photos and other third-party costs are extra unless the quote says otherwise. We'll tell you about them before you commit.

50% of the project price is due before work starts. The other 50% is due before your website goes live, or before final brand files are handed over, whichever comes first.

Invoices are due by the date shown on the invoice.

If you cancel a project partway through, you pay for the work done up to that point. That amount comes out of the deposit first.

Each design stage includes two rounds of revisions. For example, two rounds on the logo concepts and two rounds on the website design.

Further revisions, or changes that go beyond the agreed scope, are quoted before we do them. Nothing extra is charged without your OK.

You supply the text, photos, logos and information we need, and confirm that you have the right to use them.

Our timeline depends on getting your content and feedback. If we're waiting on it, the project is paused and the launch date moves accordingly.

Once you've paid in full, you own the final logo, brand files and website design we made for you, and we hand over the files.

Concepts you didn't choose, and our own tools and code libraries used to build your site, stay with us.

Fonts, photos and software from third parties stay under their own licences.

We may show the finished work in our portfolio and on our website. Tell us if you'd rather we didn't.

The plan is optional and runs month to month. It's billed monthly in advance.

It covers hosting with SSL, security updates, backups, and up to 30 minutes of small text or image changes each month. Unused time doesn't carry over.

Either of us can cancel with 30 days' notice. If you leave, we'll hand over your website files and help move it to your new host.

We build websites to be fast, clear and search-ready, but nobody can guarantee Google rankings, enquiries or sales, and we don't.

Our projects are for businesses. If you're acquiring our services for business purposes, we agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply, and nor do sections 9, 12A and 13 of the Fair Trading Act 1986, to the extent the law allows.

Our total liability for a project is limited to the amount you've paid us for it. We're not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that can't be excluded by law.
